PHILADELPHIA (July 31) Quaker Media, LLC, a company that officially started on July 26, 2006, is led by partners Pat Croce and Tim Chambers. The company specializes in developing, producing and financing media and entertainment ventures, and one of its first projects will be to produce the movie Our Lady of Victory. The film is based on the true Cinderella story of the Immaculata College women’s basketball team winning the first national championship in 1972.
“Pat and I are both really excited about this new venture and have already begun working on our first movie, Our Lady of Victory,” said Chambers. “For the past five years we have been looking for projects to collaborate on and finally found an opportunity that makes sense for us. Creatively, we have similar tastes. Professionally, we have similar drive. I know great things will follow.”
With the script now completed, casting for the movie is scheduled for early this fall in Los Angeles, New York and Philadelphia. The partners hope to film the majority of the movie throughout the Philadelphia region and are currently working with the Philadelphia film office and the State film office to secure locations. Filming is expected to start in late October and last for seven weeks.
“It’s a feel good movie. We are currently in discussions with talent,” said Croce. “The main character is a unique opportunity for a dynamic young actress to capture the spirit and moxie of this role.”
Croce, most known for his time spent as President of the Philadelphia 76ers, sees this project as a great opportunity for Philadelphia. “Many local people are involved with this movie and we look forward to bringing something to Philadelphia that will generate excitement throughout the city. This will be the first of many projects.”
The story was developed by Quaker Media partner Tim Chambers along with local WIP personality, Anthony Gargano. Chambers is an experienced entertainment executive who has spent 15 years in the film and television industries. Chambers wrote the screenplay and will Direct the film. In developing this movie Chambers and Gargano worked very closely with Cathy Rush and the administration at Immaculata University.
“What a special time this is for all of us at Immaculata, as well as the women who pioneered the development of women’s basketball during the ‘70s,” said Marie Moughan, executive director of public relations and marketing at Immaculata College. “Immaculata’s historical moment in sports will now be shared with the world.”
“I enjoyed being part of the process,” said Cathy Rush, former Immaculata College women’s basketball coach. “Tim and Anthony did a great job capturing the true emotion of our experience. It is a great story of struggle and triumph, and we are looking forward to continuing to work with Quaker Media to bring this inspirational story back to life.”
